Our Mission

DEFENDING FREE FLOW OF INFORMATION ORGANIZATION

The Defending Free Flow of Information in Iran passionately champions freedom of expression and belief, viewing access to an unimpeded flow of information as an inherent right of every citizen. We are unwaveringly committed to supporting journalists, media outlets, citizen journalists, and media activists throughout Iran, without discrimination, and we steadfastly adhere to the principle of remaining independent from partisan and political affiliations.

In alignment with many esteemed human rights organizations, we firmly assert that "the press is the fourth pillar of democracy." The establishment of a democratic society, where the rights of citizens are safeguarded, cannot be realized without an independent, professional, and free press.

We are dedicated to fortifying the press and defending the free flow of information by actively collaborating and coordinating with media organizations, journalists, legal experts, and international institutions. Through vigilant monitoring and documentation of disruptions in the information landscape in Iran, chronicling the repression faced by media and journalists, and providing robust support to media activists and citizen journalists, we aim to enhance the climate of information dissemination within the country.

In closing, we extend a heartfelt invitation to all to join us in the pursuit of building a just and democratic society, and to contribute to the advancement of human rights and fundamental freedoms for all.
