Nasrin Hasani Receives Second Prison Sentence in Under a Month

In less than a month, “Nasrin Hasani,” the editor of the weekly magazine “Siyahat Shargh” and a journalist residing in Bojnurd, was sentenced to prison for the second time.

The First Branch of the Revolutionary Court in Bojnurd, presided over by “Habibollah Pirgazi,” sentenced Nasrin Hasani in absentia to one year in prison on the charge of “propaganda against the regime.” According to the issued ruling against this journalist, “the publication of content and images in cyberspace” is cited as evidence of the crime.

Nasrin Hasani is a journalist residing in Bojnurd and the editor of the weekly magazine Siyahat Shargh. According to Hrana, this journalist was also sentenced on November 20 of this year by the 103rd Branch of the Second Criminal Court in Bojnurd to seven months in prison for the charge of “spreading falsehoods” and fined one million tomans for “not observing Islamic hijab in public places.”

Nasrin Hasani was also among those arrested during the “Women, Life, Freedom” protests. Last year, amid the continuation of protests, she was arrested by security forces and later released on bail.
