After 22 days, *Didban Iran* was unblocked and resumed its activities. The news-analysis website was blocked on April 30, 2024, and had been inaccessible to its audience until now.
Saeed Saif, the managing director of *Didban Iran*, announced the unblocking on X (formerly Twitter), stating: “Today, after 22 days, *Didban Iran* has been unblocked.” He criticized the Journalists’ Association for not supporting the website, mentioning that the association had not even made a phone call to inquire about the situation.
*Didban Iran* was blocked on April 30, 2024, after eight years of operation. Saif had previously announced on X that the website was unexpectedly blocked without prior notice and that no authority had claimed responsibility for the action.
He also expressed concerns about the lack of accountability from regulatory bodies and the absence of a judicial order related to the website’s blocking. Saif attributed the ease of blocking to the direct control of all news agencies by Abraaavan, a cloud technology company, which facilitated blocking media without a judicial order.
Abraaavan, active since 2015, was sanctioned by the United States last year for its role in restricting internet access in Iran. Although the EU had also imposed sanctions on the company, these were lifted in April of this year.
