The Court of Appeals in Qazvin has fined Mojtaba Rahimi, an economic journalist and one of the detainees from the “Women, Life, Freedom” protests in 2022, six million and 600 thousand tomans.
Previously, Branch 102 of the Qazvin Criminal Court charged Mojtaba Rahimi with “conspiracy and collusion to commit a crime against internal security” and “spreading falsehoods through computer systems.” He was also accused in this case of possessing “satellite reception devices and equipment.”
In a tweet he had shared along with his notification, Mojtaba Rahimi stated: “My case from 2022, which had included amnesty, was reopened. I must return to court with charges of conspiracy and collusion and spreading falsehoods.”
Mojtaba Rahimi is one of the journalists detained during the “Women, Life, Freedom” protests in 2022. He spent two months in temporary detention in this case. Ultimately, after the issuance of the “Amnesty and Reduction of Public Penalties” directive on February 11, 2023, Mojtaba Rahimi’s case was closed.
