During her imprisonment, this social journalist was deprived of in-person visits and phone contact with her family at least twice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nasim Soltanbeigi was arrested at Imam Khomeini International Airport by IRGC intelligence agents on December 22, 2022 and taken to Ward 2-A in Evin Prison. After enduring 47 days of provisional detention, she was released on February 6, 2023 upon posting a bail of one billion tomans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In August 2023, Branch 26 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court, presided over by Judge Iman Afshari, sentenced Nasim Soltanbeigi to seven months and 16 days in prison for &#8220;propaganda against the regime&#8221;, and three years and six months in prison for &#8220;collusion and conspiracy aimed at actions against national security&#8221;. In this case, the journalist was also sentenced to a supplementary punishment of a two-year ban on membership in political and social groups and a two-year exit ban from the country.
